Father, son killed by lightning strike

A man and his son were killed when a thunderbolt struck them at Kachua Beel (water-body) in Dakhkhin Sunamganj Upazila in Sunamganj district on Sunday night. The deceased were identified as Abdul Hafiz, 55, and his son Azim Uddin, 32, residents of Chandrapur village in the Upazila. Locals said a streak of lightning hit Hafiz and his son when they were catching fish in the water-boy on Sunday evening, leaving the duo critically injured. Local people found them lying there around 10.00pm and rescued them. They rushed the father and the son to a hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival, according to a news agency.
