Father, three sons hacked dead in M\\\'singh

Four members of a family have been hacked to death over a land dispute in Mymensingh’s Nandail Upazila. The murders took place in the Upazila’s Bashanti village around 10:30pm on Friday, said Nandail police OC Syed Abdullah. The deceased are Belal Hossain, 50, his sons ‘Farid’, 25, ‘Himel’, 14, and ‘Pavel’, 10. Belal and his elder brother Lal Miah have been at loggerheads over possession of pieces of ancestral land for a long time, OC Abdullah said. He said Lal Miah and his people attacked Belal’s house after Isha prayers and fled after murdering the four with sharp weapons. Belal and Pavel were inside the house when they came under attack while the other two were killed right outside their home, the police officer said. He added that police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent those to hospital, according to bdnews24.com.
