Faulty vessels and Eid/Puja passengers

The news item published in the Financial Express on Wednesday with the heading 'Home-goers on river routes exposed to faulty vessels' makes us scary. On the one side, the launch owners are insisting on carrying more passengers than the capacity of the vessel, while more frightening news is that some faulty vessels are preparing to carry passengers to long distant southern regions of the country.
We want the government to be very rigid and tough against any kind of irregularity. We have seen enough of dead bodies floating due to launch capsize. We no more want to see loss of a single life due to carelessness of the law enforcing authority.
