Fawzia Samad's 8th death anniv today

The 8th death anniversary of Begum Fawzia Samad, wife of late MA Samad, a renowned insurance legend and founder of Bangladesh General Insurance Co Ltd, will be observed today (Thursday), says a press release.
Begum Fawzia Samad was a talented lady who devoted her whole life to the cause of the women-folk of the country.In 1949, Fawzia Samad along with her litterateur husband, MA Samad, published a magazine named 'Minar' for the children and youths of the country.
Later, she collected the articles published in the magazine and published a book containing the articles. This publication contributed much to the Bengali literature and language movement of 1952.
She was born in Sylhet in 1929.
