Fazilatunnesa eye hospital to start operation from July

GOPALGANJ, June 16: Works on Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Eye Hospital and Training Institute at Gopalganj have been progressing fast and is scheduled to start functioning from July 1, 2015.
Official sources said, finishing work of the project is going on in full swing and about 97 per cent work of the project has already been completed.
According to Public Works Department (PWD), Gopalganj, in the month of July, 2010 PWD took possession of 15 acres of land and a site was selected at Ghonapara near Dhaka-Khulna and Gopalganj-Pirojpur highway under Gopalganj Sadar upazila area for construction of the hospital.
While talking to the Executive Engineer PWD, Gopalganj, he told the FE that out of the total amount of the project Tk 146.30 billion (14630.07 crore) an amount of Tk 13049.38 crore has been spent and the work which started in the fiscal year of June 2011-12 and it will be complete  in the coming month on schedule, he added.
