Fazlul Karim laid to rest

Eminent scholar Professor Sardar Fazlul Karim was laid to eternal rest at the city's Azimpur graveyard, beside his wife, reports BSS.
Earlier his body was brought to Dhaka University (DU) campus where a Namaz-e-Janaza was held at the university mosque after Zohr prayers. He breathed his last at the city's Samarita Hospital in the wee hours of today due to old-aged complications.
A prominent teacher of DU and a foremost intellectual of the country, Prof Karim, left behind one daughter, two sons, and host of relatives, admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, her special assistant Mahbubul Haque Shakil and APS Abdul Malek placed wreath to the coffin.
Finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzman Noor, former Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint-General Secretary Dr Dipu Moni, Emeritus Professors of DU Serajul Islam Chowdhury and Anisuzzaman also placed wreaths at the coffin.
