The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Foundation has begun its journey for discharging social responsibilities.
A meeting of FBCCI board of directors, presided over by its president Annisul Haque in a city hotel Monday, approved the formation of the foundation. The foundation will soon start its activities to train up the country's unemployed people and create employment opportunity for them, said a press release.
FBCCI president, in his speech on the occasion, said, "As a part of discharging social responsibility, the FBCCI Foundation will train up unemployed people under its different member associations in the first phase." "In the second phase, the foundation will provide education and vocational training to unemployed people," he said.
He also added that primary activities of the foundation would be managed by financial assistance from the FBCCI members.
