The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has welcomed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government over the recent verdict of maritime boundary dispute with neighbouring India.
In a statement Thursday, the Chamber said Bangladesh has won another maritime boundary dispute with India after the last one with Myanmar, reports UNB.
On July 8, the Permanent Court of Arbitration at The Hague in the Netherlands resolved the long-lasting maritime dispute with India and Bangladesh establishing Bangladesh's right to 19,467 square kilometres in the Bay of Bengal.
The FBCCI expressed the hope the complications in leasing out blocks to explore mineral resources in the Bay would be resolved after the verdict.
