FBCCI president off to Malaysia to participate in study tour

Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) President Mir Nasir Hossain left Dhaka Monday for Malaysia to attend a study tour on industrial promotion agencies of Malaysia to gather ideas on building a strong foundation of the local small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs).
The programme, organised by the Ministry of Industries and SME Foundation, is being held from August 20 to August 25 at Kuala Lumpur. BEI Chairman and former foreign secretary Farook Slobhan and a number of high officials of the government are also attending the programme.
Apart from attending the study tour, the FBCCI president will call on the Malaysian prime minister at his office. Mir Nasir will also meet the secretary general of Ministry of International Trade and Industry, chief executive officers of Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation and Malaysian Industrial Development Authority, managing director of SME Bank and CEO of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation in Kuala Lumpur, secretary general of Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development, and head of Economic Planning Unit in charge of the SME sector at Putrajaya.
The FBCCI president is expected to return on August 25. During his absence FBCCI First Vice-President Mohammad Ali will act as the president of the organisation.
