FBCCI willing to invest in Africa

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is interested in developing trade relations with African countries.
The leaders of the country's apex trade body expressed their willingness to invest in ready-made garment (RMG), agriculture and other new sectors in Africa.
The FBCCI showed its business interest at a discussion with a National Defence College (NDC) delegation of Tanzania in the FBCCI conference room on Wednesday.
FBCCI president Sheikh Fazle Fahim chaired the discussion.
Tanzanian ambassador Peter Kallaghe led the NDC team.
Representatives from China, Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, Botswana and Burundi, who are also the members of the NDC panel, also took part in the discussion.
Mr Fahim briefed the delegates on the local economy, fast-track development projects, role of FBCCI in the government's policy formation and the public-private partnership in the country's development process.
Apart from RMG and agriculture, he said, Bangladesh could export electronic goods, home appliances and other products to Africa.
The FBCCI and the NDC members discussed Bangladesh economy, investment scenario and its facilities, banking sector and interest rates.
FBCCI vice-presidents and directors were also present.
