Female doctor commits suicide

BARISAL: A female doctor of Barisal General Hospital allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the city’s Kaunia area Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Dr Lubna Jahan, 31, who was serving the radio-pathology department of the government hospital and wife of Dr Shahriar, dental surgeon of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (BSBMCH).
Family sources said Dr Shahriar broke open the door of their bedroom, locked from inside, around 3pm after getting no response from his wife despite repeated calls.
As he stormed into the room, he found Dr Lubna hanging from a ceiling fan with her scarf.
She was rushed to the BSBMCH where attending physicians declared her dead. The body was sent to the hospital for autopsy.
