Female doctor dies falling from roof

A female physician died falling from the roof of a house at New Baile Road in the city Tuesday afternoon. The victim was identified as Dr Tania Rashid, 35, wife of Dr Masud Reza, a resident of Nao Ratan Colony at New Baily Road. Dr Tania, who worked at Popular Diagnostic Centre, might have slipped and fell from the roof of the five-storey building at Nao Ratan Colony around 4pm while she was collecting dry cloths, said sub-inspector Shafiul of Ramna Police Station. She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared her dead shortly afterwards. Tania with his sister Seherun Rashid and only child Sadik Reza, 9, was residing at Nao Ratan Colony. Her husband Dr Masud stays in Barisal working as a doctor of Barisal Medical College Hospital. Filing of a case is underway in this regard, police have said.    — BSS
