Female RMG worker electrocuted

A garment worker has been electrocuted in Chittagong city. Police quoting locals said Nurunnahar Begum, 20, was electrocuted on her way to workplace in Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) area in Kalurghat under Chandgaon Police Station on Tuesday afternoon. Nurunnahar was the wife of Omar Faruk Saiful, hailed from Chandmia Munshi Lane of Chawkbazar thana in the port city. She was working for a readymade garment unit of Well Group. Abdul Aziz, officer-in-charge of the police station said she was electrocuted when she stepped into a puddle of rainwater beside an electric pole on the street. Locals took her to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared her dead, according to a news agency.
