Female TDP members can maintain law and order in urban areas: Speakers

RANGPUR, Dec 11 (BSS): Speakers at a training course here Friday said the female members of the Town Defence Party (TDP) could play vital roles side by side with the male Ansar and VDP members in maintaining law and order in the urban areas.
They were addressing the concluding ceremony of the 21-day first- phase training course arranged for the female TDP members from three districts of Rangpur, Lalmonirhat and Kurigram in the city.
Deputy Camp Commander of Rangpur and Sadar Upazila Ansar- VDP Officer Iqbal Hossain chaired the ceremony and Rangpur District Commandant of Ansar and VDP Abdus Samad attended it as the chief guest.
Upazila Ansar and VDP Officer Mizanur Rahman, trainees Tahmina Parveen Taposhi and Sreemoti Kajol Lota addressed the concluding ceremony.
District and Upazila level Ansar-VDP officials conducted the training course and 231 female trainees of the TDP took part.
The speakers urged the female trainees of the TDP to engage their all-out efforts in maintaining law and order situation side-by- side working with the male members of the Ansar and VDP in the urban areas.
