Female UP member chopped dead

Some miscreants chopped to death a female member of Bayra Union Parishad (UP) of Singra Upazila in Manikganj distarict at sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday. The dead is Anwara Khatun, 45, the member of reserved 4, 5 and 6 No wards. Local people found Anwara’s body lying on the road on Sunday and informed police. Officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station (PS) Sayeduzzaman said a team from the PS recovered the body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy. Sayeduzzaman, quoting locals, said a gang of miscreants killed her any time at night. The reason behind the killing could not be known, he said, according to a news agency.
