Ferry services on Shemulia-Kewrakandi route in Padma River has resumed after 14-and-half-hour of disruption caused by dense fog. Habibul Islam, senior terminal superintendent of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Kewrakandi Ferry Ghat (terminal), said river communication on the route was suspended at 8:00pm on Wednesday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. Seven ferries remained stopped in the middle of the Padma since 8:00 pm on Wednesday. Six hundred vehicles kept in wait on both sides of the river. However, ferry services on the route fully resumed around on Thursday noon as fog started disappearing after the sunrise, according to a news agency.
