Ferry service at Maowa-Keorakandi route suspended

MUNSHIGANJ, Mar 22 (UNB): Ferry service at Maowa-Keorakandi route remained suspended for four and half hours Monday following a clash between the staffs of Maowa and Keorakandi ghats. A huge traffic jam was created on both sides, causing immense sufferings to the passengers.
Maowa ferry ghat in-charge Abdur Razzaq said that some speedboat workers of Maowa beat up a staff of Keorakandi ghat over the serial of speedboat at noon Sunday.
As a sequel to the incident, some workers of Maowa ghat were beaten up by Keorakandi ghat workers at 5:00 pm on the same day. Later, trawler and speedboat movement came to a halt.
