Ferry services resume after 9-hr

Ferry services disrupted owing to dense fog on the Shimulia-Kawrakandi route of Padma River has resumed after a gap of around 9 hours on Friday. Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Shimulia Ghat Manager (commerce) Sirajul Haq confirmed it, saying the disruption happened around 12 midnight and the normalcy returned there at about 9:00am. Due to the dense fog, ten ferries left from both ghats had been forced to anchor on the middle point of the river. About 1,000 passengers and 200 vehicles had to pass the night in the middle of the river, according to a news agency.
