Ferry sinks with 5 paddy-laden trucks, 2 pickups

A ferry along with five paddy-laden trucks and two pickup vans capsized in the Madhumati River near Kalna Ferry Ghat in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district early Thursday. Police said when the ferry along with the vehicles and some passengers started in a bid to go to Kalna Ghat in Narail district from here at about 2:30am, suddenly some water went out of it and it capsized. On information, officials of the local administration, divers and a rescue team rushed to the spot. However, no casualty was reported in the accident, according to UNB.
