BNP has alleged that Liberation War Affairs Ministry and the freedom fighters were ignored in the national anthem event held at National Parade ground in the city on Wednesday. “The event (‘Lakho Konthe Sonar Bangla) was organised by the government. There was no separate participation of political parties. But it’s a matter of regret that the Liberation War Affairs Ministry's involvement was not visible in organising the programme. It exposed that the freedom fighters were ignored in it,” BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan alleged while talking to reporters after paying tributes to BNP founder and late President Ziaur Rahman at his Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Mazar. Asked why BNP did not participate in the national event, organised on the occasion of Independence and National Day on Mar 26, Nazrul Islam Khan said “No party has been asked to take part in it separately. It’s obvious where the freedom fighters and the related ministry were ignored BNP would be mistreated too,” according to UNB.
