FFs, relatives of martyred war heroes accorded reception

The freedom fighters (FF) and close relatives of the martyred war heroes were accorded a reception in Dhaka Cantonment on the eve of the Armed Forces Day on Thursday morning. General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, the Chief of Army Staff, received them at Army Officers’ Club in Dhaka Cantonment. He exchanged pleasantries with them and talked with them. The army chief talked to three Bir Uttams, six Beer Bikrams, 11 valiant freedom fighters and the close relatives of three Beer Shreshthas and also presented various gifts to them. During the reception, Gen Iqbal Karim also recalled the supreme sacrifice and invaluable contributions made by the brave sons of the soil and their relatives for the sake of the country’s independence. The Armed Forces Day will be observed as usual on November 21, according to a news agency.
