Fifth National VAT Week ends

FE Report | Friday, 17 July 2015

Programmes marking of the Fifth National VAT Week 2015 concluded on Thursday, a media release from the revenue board said.
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) observed the VAT Week with a view to creating social awareness among the mass people about importance of value added tax (VAT).
The theme of this year's VAT Week was 'Pay VAT timely to participate in the development of the country'. The week-long celebration kicked off on July 10 in the capital with a colourful rally, led by State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan.
Like the previous years, programmes of the VAT Day and the VAT Week included discussions and rallies across the country to create awareness among people and businesses about the VAT.
The revenue board also honoured 110 top taxpayers this year, the release said.
