THOSE who appeared in HSC exams this year are passing a period of emotion at this time of September. The result was published on 10th--the passing rate being 76.91%, almost three-fourth of the total examinees have come out successfully. This is indeed a good sign, a sign indicating more seriousness of the students about their education, career and thus being eager to lead a healthy life.
Those who could not come out successfully do not need to be disappointed. They have every potential to do better in their next efforts. If they put disciplined labour for 2009 exam, they will surely succeed. It is very natural that they will feel shocked at their 'unexpected' or 'bad' result but the sooner they overcome the shock, the better they will do in their future days since with planned activities the future can be good.
And those who have succeeded in the exam, congratulations for them. They have just climbed up one important stair in their life. This is time for them to look forward. But again, this is time for them to realise that it is just GROUND ZERO for them. The whole life is ahead. This is time for them to be serious for their future days. This is time for them to stop a while, and to think deeply where they want to be in life and act accordingly. In order to set their aim in life, they can talk to seniors, teachers and others. If there is opportunity, they can also talk to people of various professions which might be helpful for them to choose thier most suitable profession.
Based on where they want to be in life, many students are already preparing for the admission battles for medical colleges, universities, engineering universities and are studying very seriously for their success.
Sometimes admission seekers sit for one university only. When they do not succeed in that university, it might often be very late. They might not have the time to sit for other universities. It is advisable that students sit for more than one university in order to increase possibility of passing and not becoming losers.
Also, if the first effort of admission into a university fails, students should never be disappointed. They need to start their preparations anew to give a better fight for the next university.
Visualization about success might be helpful for the admission seekers. For example, someone wants to get admitted into Dhaka Medical College. One can collect a photograph of the college and see it and think this way: “I have been a student of DMC. I am doing good in the exams. Both teachers and students have started liking me. I am getting good job offers no sooner after completing my exam.” Such imagination, if practised everday, will help them work towards the goal.
Those preparing for university admissions should be alert about admission test schedule of various universities. They must keep an eye on newspapers and other sources so that no information is missed.
The university admission seekers should be optimistic and confident about tests. They should be cool in exam halls.
The admissions seekers will get best benefit if they form study groups and sit for some mock tests prior to the exam. This will help them be on the track.
Those who are seeking admission tests, they should give preparation their top priority, since on it depend their career and future.
