Fill up vacancies of Appellate Division: SCBA
Sunday, 18 May 2014
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Sunday urged the government to fill up the vacant posts of the Appellate Division to resolve long-pending cases in the interest of justice seekers. Addressing a press conference, SCBA President Khandker Mahbub Hossain came up with the demand. Pointing finger at the government, he said it has stopped appointment with a mala fide intention which is not comprehensible to the lawyer community. At present, he said, 15,000 cases are pending with the Appellate Division for disposal while 300,000 cases with the High Court Division, according to a news agency.
