Final voter list to be ready by October

The final voters' list will be available by October this year, as registration of 49.3 million (4.93 crore) voters has already been completed across the country, reports UNB.
"Registration of 49.3 million voters has been completed (across the country) and it is expected that the total number of voters will be over 80 million", said Major Ferdous Ahsan Selim, spokesman of the central control cell on preparation of the voters' list and national identity (ID) card project.
The spokesman was addressing a press briefing at Dhaka Cantonment Saturday.
Selim said the final voters' list containing 1,291,147 voters of four city corporations and seven municipalities will be handed over to the Election Commission on March 24.
The city corporations are Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Rajshahi while the municipalities are Gopalganj, Cox's Bazar, Sitakunda, Fulbaria, Sreepur, Shariatpur and Manikganj.
