Finance Minister thanks financial institutions for coming forward to sponsor SA Games

Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith thanked financial institutions for coming forward to sponsor the 11th edition of the SA Games, the biggest sports extravaganza of the sub-continent scheduled to begin from January 29 to February 09 in the city, reports BSS.
BOA, the main organiser of the SA Games received a major boost Thursday after eight government financial institutions confirmed their active involvements with the games accumulating an amount of Taka 170 million (17 crores) of sponsorship money.
Muhith, also the chairman of the South Asian Games Organising Committee was the chief guest of the partnership signing ceremony at the BOA House.
Ziaul Huq Khandoker, the convener of Marketing and Sponsor Committee and Kutubuddin Ahmed, the secretary general of Bangladesh Olympic Association were also present on the occasion.
Four leading financial institutions- Agrani Bank, Janata Bank, Shadharan Bima Corporation and Sonali Bank were declared as Gold sponsors, Invest-ment Corporation of Bangladesh were announced as Silver sponsor while Jibon Bima Corporation, Basic Bank and Rupali Bank were confirmed as co-sponsors.
The Finance minister highlighted the change of sports arena. He said, " The first Olympics had only one race but the modern day Olympics has grown bigger than the imagination".
BOA Secretary General Kutubuddin Ahmed also the member secretary of the Games Organizing Commi-ttee expressed gratitude to the sponsors.
Syed Abu Nasir Bukhtear, MD Agrani Bank, Aminur Rahman, MD Janata Bank, SA Chowdhury, MD Sonali Bank, Md. Rejaul Karim, MD Shadharan Bima Corporation, AKM Sajedur Rahamn, MD Basic Bank, Talukder Shamsur Rahman, MD Jiban Bima Corpo-ration, Md. Abdul Hamid Miah, MD Ruplai Bank and Md Humayun Kabir, MD ICB handed over the cheques to the finance minister.
