Finance undergrads get tips on higher studies abroad at NSU

FE Report | Wednesday, 8 July 2015

North South University Finance Club on Tuesday organised a day-long event titled "Excellence Beyond Borders" to help undergraduate students majoring in Finance pursue higher studies abroad.
Around 300 students of the university participated in the event divided into six sessions. Experts delivered multimedia presentations for the students on designated topics.
The club president Reyasat Chowdhury and other office bearers inaugurated the day-long event in the morning at the NSU campus. The Financial Express was media partner of the event.
The first session was a lecture on how to obtain good GRE and GMAT score to be accepted into best universities abroad.
The next sessions covered nitty-gritty of getting into universities in the USA, Canada, Europe, the UK and Australia and Asia.
The speakers were Khan Mohammad Saiful Alam, Zereen Tasnim Lazima, Tasnia Khandaker, Jamy Mohaimen, Rubayat Shams, Kashfia Khan Chowdhury, Tahmid Kabir, Bilkis Barkat Ali, Sadia Zaman and Kifayet Amin Ahmed.
Reyasat Chowdhury said each speaker has experience in the subjects they spoke.
He said the event was organised to help university students make plan and prepare for the process of their post-graduate degree in different continents.
"Our achievement as a club would be to see the attendees study in great universities across the globe and look back at the seminar as the stepping stone of their success," he said.
He said numerous students of NSU, especially Finance majors, aspire to attain postgraduate degrees in prestigious universities, but most of them are oblivious of proper information about fruitful post-graduate programmes on Finance discipline.
The Club was established in August 2014 to provide students with opportunities for professional and personal development through facilitating member students in acquiring a range of skills at multiple levels and progress in terms of virtue and personality by engaging them in several developmental activities.
It is a Co-curricular Club under the Department of Finance and Accounting for the undergraduate students of North South University.
So far, NSU Finance Club has organised events such as seminar sessions on Chartered Accountancy in partnership with KPMG Bangladesh, Finance: Theory vs Practice, NSU International Accreditation Seminar, and NSU Finance Club Official Recruitment 2015.
