Fire at Mirpur-11

A fire broke out at a market at Mirpur in the city on Saturday morning. Fire Service and Civil Defence sources said the blaze erupted at ‘Jhut Patti’ at Mirpur-11 locality around 11:20am on Saturday. The market has scores of small shops trading in garments and jhut (scrap). On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and were trying to tame the blaze. However, no casualty was reported from the fire till 12:30pm. Neither the cause of the fire, nor the extent of damage could be known immediately. Details are awaited, according to bdnews24.com.
