Fire at Motijheel City Bank branch doused

The fire that erupted at a branch of a private bank at Dilkusha in the city’s Motijheel on Friday morning has been doused. However, no injury is reported as of filing this report at about 11:45am. Mohammad Ali, duty officer at the control room of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said a fire broke out at a commercial building housing a City Bank branch at Dilkusha in Motijheel Commercial Area in the capital around 10:30am. The fire originated at the second floor of the two-storey building, he said. On information, four firefighting units from different fire stations in the city rushed to the spot. The firefighters tamed the blaze after 45 minutes of hectic efforts with the help of police and the locals at about 11:15 am. The cause behind the fire could not be known immediately, according to a news agency.
