Fire breaks out at Pubali Bank branch

A fire broke out Friday at a branch of Pubali Bank Ltd at Fakirapool in the capital. The fire originated from an air conditioner (AC) of a room of the bank due to electric short circuit.
However, there was no report of casualties, according the control room of the Fire Service and Civil Defence.   
The bank is operating its functions from the first floor of a five storied building located at 165, DIT Road in Fakirapool area.  
 "We sent our three teams at around 3:32 pm and controlled the fire at 4: 30 pm. The extent of damage is estimated at Tk 20,000," Fariduddin a duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room told the FE on the day.
