Fire breaks out at spinning mill

Goods of a spinning mill were gutted in a fire that broke out in the mill at Kharajora in Kaliakoir under Gazipur Thursday. Witnesses said, the fire originated from an electric short circuit in Jahanara Spinning Mill, and gutted threads and machines at noon. On information, fire-fighters from Savar EPZ rushed to the spot, and doused the flame with the help of local people. The mill authorities estimated the losses caused by fire at about Tk 5.0 million. —UNB
