Fire guts 10 shops in Pirojpur

At least 10 shops were gutted in a fire that broke out in a market at Swarupkathi Bazar of Pirojpur district on Sunday evening. Locals said the fire originated from a grocery shop of one Udoy Saha at the market around 8:30 pm and it soon spread to nearby shops. On information, two firefighting units from nearby fire stations rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire after one and a half hours of frantic efforts. Meanwhile, Swarupkathi upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Abul Kalam Talukder visited the spot, according to a news agency.
