Fire guts 8 shops in Shariatpur

Eight shops were gutted by a fire that broke out at Rajganj Bazar in Shariatpur Sadar Upazila on Friday. Fire service sources said the fire originated from a restaurant at a local market around 5:00am and soon engulfed seven other adjoining shops. Being informed, a firefighting unit rushed in and extinguished the blaze after 1 hour of frantic efforts. Affected shop owners claimed that the loss caused by the fire could go up to Tk 10 million, according to a news agency.
