Monday, 20 January 2014

More than 50 shops in Noakhali's Maijdi commercial area were gutted in a fire early on Monday. Maijdi Fire Service's Assistant Director Md Monir Hossain said that the fire broke out around 3.30am and could be doused only around 6am. Hossain said they suspect electric short-circuit caused the fire. More than fifty shops at the malls of Chandni Super Market, Feroza Shopping Complex, Momin Shopping Complex, Dubai Market and Maijdi Hawkers' Market were gutted in the fire. Most of the shops sold clothes, cosmetics, electronic equipments and drugs, according to a news agency.
