Fire guts shops in Bogra

A devastating fire gutted shops and a godown in Natai Para area in Bogra town on Thursday night. Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop in a supermarket at Bou Bazar in Natai Para and soon engulfed some adjoining shops and a godown around 7:00pm. Being informed, fire fighters from the fire station in district headquarters rushed in and controlled the blaze after frantic efforts. Affected shop owners estimated the loss caused by the fire at about Tk 0.5 million, according to a news agency.
