Fire guts six shops in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 30 (BSS): A total of six different kinds of shops and a house were gutted in a fire that broke out in Segun Bagan area under Chandragona in Rangunia upazila of the district in the early hours of Saturday.
Kamruzzaman, station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defense in Chattogram, said the fire originated from a cooking oven at a restaurant in the area around 1 am.
After that it quickly engulfed the adjacent shops and house.
Two firefighting units from Rangunia upazila rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control around 1.55 am.
Quoting the victims, local fire service official claimed that the fire damaged properties worth about Taka 0.4 million (four lakh).
Sources said that none was, however, injured in the fire.
