Fire in Ctg fish plant

CHITTAGONG, Jan 15: Fish worth over Tk 15 million was damaged and production units gutted in a devastating fire at a fish processing industry in Sagorika industrial area under Pahartali police station in the city Thursday night. Originating from a short circuit on the third floor of the Bangladesh Fish Processing Co at around 9:45pm, the fire quickly spread to other floors damaging the frozen fish and the whole production unit over an area of 33,000 square feet. A total of 12 fire-fighting units after a five-hour hectic effort brought the fire under control. Five people received minor injuries during the fire fighting.
