Fire tamed at TV channel studio in city

Firefighters with the help of the local people doused the fire that broke out at a studio of a private television station in Tejgaon Industrial area in the city on Wednesday night. However, no casualty was reported in the fire. Fire Service and Civil Defence sources and local people said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at Bengal Studio of RTV around 7:00pm. Being informed, seven fire-fighting units rushed to the spot from Tejgaon and different other fire stations in the city. The fire fighters, with the help of the locals, brought the blaze under control after one hour of hectic efforts. The extent of loss from the fire in terms of money could not be known immediately, according to a news agency.
