Firearm, bullets recovered in Pirojpur

Police in a drive recovered a pipe gun and five rounds of bullet from the house of a drug peddler at Laxmipur village in Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur district on early Saturday. Police had earlier arrested the drug peddler, Iqbal Mallick, along with his sister Dalim and brother-in-law M Alamgir Hossain at Battala in the upazila in possession of 85 bottles of Phensidyl syrup on Friday afternoon. Kamruzzaman Talukdar, officer-in-charge of Bhandaria Police Station said a team of police recovered the firearm and bullets following statement of Iqbal. There are 22 cases filed against Iqbal with several police stations in Pirojpur, according to a news agency.
