Firearms, bullets recovered in Comilla: 1 held

A youth has been arrested with firearms by Police detectives from a Durga Puja pandal in Comilla Sadar Upazila. The detainee was identified as Nurul Islam, 24, from Noapara in the Upazila. Comilla district’s Detective Branch SI Shah Kamal Akand said the suspect was carrying a pipe gun containing four rounds of ammunition and two knives when nabbed from the pandal at Durgapur around 10pm Saturday. Islam's suspicious behaviour during the immersion drew attention of the locals. Consequently, they informed the police. A group of detectives detained Islam from the spot and recovered the weapons, according to bdnews24.com.
