Firearms, bullets seized

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel seized two 9mm pistols and three rounds of bullet in Benapole Customs House area under Sarsa Upazila in Jessore on Wednesday. Being tipped-off, a BGB team conducted a raid there and chased a group of smugglers, said Lieutenant Colonel Matiur Rahman, commanding officer of BGB Battalion 26. Later, the border guards recovered the pistols and bullets from behind the export terminal of Benapole land port as the smugglers fled the scene leaving the arms and ammo there, according to UNB.
