Firearms, Phensidyl recovered in Chuadanga

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered a foreign made pistol, two rounds of bullet and 60 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Rajapur border area in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district on Tuesday night. Lieutenant Colonel Maniruzzaman, director of BGB Battalion-6, said on secret information, they conducted a drive near Pillar-73 of the border at about 10:00 pm while a group of smugglers was entering the Bangladesh territory from Indian side. Sensing the presence of the BGB members, the smugglers fled the scene leaving the firearm, bullets and Phensidyl behind. Later, the border guards recovered those from the spot. None was arrested, according to UNB.
