First B737-700 for Regent Airways arrives in Dhaka

The first Boeing Next Generation 737-700 aircraft of Regent Airways - the country's leading private airline, arrived at Dhaka on Thursday, said a press release. The aircraft departed from Phoenix, Arizona, USA on 1st July and came through Europe and Middle-East to reach Hazrat Shahjalal Intl Airport, Dhaka at 5pm local time as a gentle drizzle welcomed the ultra-modern aircraft. The aircraft is the youngest Boeing 737 ever registered in Bangladesh, and is on a lease for 6 years from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), USA. Regent Airways shall deploy the aircraft on its first international destination - Kuala Lumpur, while another B737-700 that shall soon join the fleet will pave the way to serve Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. Configured in a spacious 2-class cabin - 12 Business Class and 114 Economy Class seats totaling into 126 passenger capacity, the aircraft is equipped with in-flight entertainment system throughout the cabin, most modern avionics for flight safety, and fuel-saving winglets. The second B737-700 shall join Regent Airways soon to make the airline's fleet the youngest in Bangladesh and enable it to maintain its high reliability and safety performance in commercial operations.
