First case of MERS in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has confirmed the first case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS) after a 53-year-old man returning from the US via Gulf city of Abu Dhabi was found afflicted with the deadly virus. Professor Mahmudur Rahman, director of the national disease control agency, IEDCR, said the man was recuperating in a Dhaka hospital. 'We have notified it to World Health Organisation (WHO),' said Prof Rahman, the senior expert of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Reseaerch (IEDCR), according to a news agency.
