First direct Hajj flight leaves Sylhet

Foreign Affairs Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury inaugurated the first direct Hajj flight from the Sylhet Osmani International Airport to Jeddah as the chief guest Thursday. A Bangladesh Biman flight left for Jeddah with 314 pilgrims. The adviser, in his speech, said, with the introduction of direct Hajj flight from Sylhet, the sufferings of the pilgrims of the greater Sylhet would be lessened. Managing Director of Bangladesh Biman Ltd MA Momen, Joint Secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Fakhrul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Haroon-ur-Rashid and President of Sylhet Press Club Muktabis-un-Noor also spoke on the occasion. — BSS
