First meeting of Sonali Bank Ltd Shariah Council held

The first meeting of the Shariah Council of Sonali Bank (SB) Limited was held in the board room of its head office recently, said a press relesae.
Prof Moulana Salahuddin, chairman of Shariah Council and Khatib of National Baitul Mukarram Mosque presided over the meeting.
Members of the Shariah Council Abdul Wahid khan, Moulana Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Moulana Md Mustafizur Rahman, Economic Adviser of Bangladesh Bank Habibullah Bahar, CEO and Managing Director SA Chowdhury and DMD Kazi Fuqrul Islam attended the meeting.
Among others, DMD Pradip Kumar Dutta, General Manager Atiqur Rahman, Deputy General Manager Hasan Iqbal and Secretary of Shariah Zahid Hossain were also present in the meeting.
The meeting approved the bylaws of Islami banking. The Shariah Council also gave approval to start Islamic banking in five branches of Sonali Bank Limited primarily.
