First Premier Div Chess League begins tomorrow

The first-ever Premier Division Chess League, organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation, begins in the city tomorrow (Saturday), reports UNB Ten top teams of last year's first division league--Bangladesh Biman, Destiny 2000, Titas Club, Narayanganj Pritom-Prisom Chess Club, Bashir Memorial Chess Club, Nebula Chess Club, Ignition PR Chess Club, Air Destiny Ltd, Leonine Chess Club and Dhaka Mohammedan SC (Dhaka Metropolitan Chess Club) -will play in the league. The number draw ceremony of the league will be held today (Friday) at 6 pm at the chess federation hall room. Two bottom ranking teams of the league will be relegated to the first division league. Dhaka Mohammedan SC earned right to play in the Premier Division League directly after purchasing position of Dhaka Metropolitan Chess Club. Dhaka Mohammedan formed a formidable team to battle for the league title recruiting Grand Master Ziaur Rahman and South Asian First Grand Master Niaz Murshed. They are also recruiting two Indian Grand Masters Avijit Gupta and Dibendu Barua for the league. Country's another Grand Master Reefat Bin Sattar signed deal with Destiny 2000 to play in the ensuing league.
