FE REPORT | Monday, 26 September 2022
Financial institutions' staff members divided into three categories from top to bottom rungs will receive integrity award under updated rules revealed Sunday.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued Integrity Award (Amendment) Guidelines-2022 for Financial Institutions, in line with the government National Integrity Strategy, to recognise outstanding contribution of the their employees.
The central bank's Department of Financial Institutions and Markets (DFIM) said the recognition must include a certificate, a crest and prize money equivalent to one-month salary of the recipient.
Under the BB guidelines, employees of the financial institutions, from top to bottom rungs, are divided into three categories for awarding.
Chief executive and three ranks below are put under the first category while remaining ranks of officers are in the second category. And the third category covers all other employees-peon, messengers and guards.
Employees would be selected based on ten indicators specified in the guidelines, each containing 10 numbers to make up the total evaluation marks of 100.
Besides the markings, the guidebook also mentions six other eligibility criteria to get award under the National Integrity Award.
The criteria include at least 3 years of tenure of employment with the bank and achieving minimum 80 numbers. An award-winning employee would not be considered in the subsequent three years.
A committee comprising FI's chairman and two other board members would select the upper-rank employees for the award, while chief executive along with head of human resources department would pick employees for the rest two categories.
Endorsement of the boards has been made mandatory for the awards.
