Fish resource uplift campaign begins in B'baria

BRAHMANBARIA, Aug 27: A week-long 'Fish Resource Development Campaign-2008' began in the district Monday with the theme of "Machher Bongsho Rokkha Pele, Khadyo Ortho Dui-e Mele (If fish resources are protected, food and money are guaranteed).
Elaborate programmes have been taken to make the campaign a success, which was inaugurated by local Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Abdul Hai as the chief guest at Zila Parishad auditorium in the district.
Chaired by District fisheries officer (DFO) Md Murad Hossain, the function was attended, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and Development) Md Emrul Chowdhury as special guest, World Concern Programme Manager Paul Rinto, and Rotarians Dr Mamun and Golam Mostafa.
