Five accomplices of dacoit Shahid arrested

Detective police in a drive arrested five accomplices of "dacoit Shahid" from the city's Badda area Monday night, a DMP press release said.
On a tip-off, a police team of Badda P.S., led by Assistant Commissioner of detective branch Sanwar Hossain, conducted a drive at a house at Badda and arrested Panchu Kalu, one of the close associates of dacoit Shahid.
Following his confessional statement, they arrested Shanto, Suman, Jamal and Liton from an under-construction building at Swamibagh in the city Tuesday night. The plainclothes police also recovered 15 bombs and bomb making materials from their possession.
A DB (detective branch) officer said the arrested persons in preliminary interrogation confessed that they sent collected tolls to dacoit Shahid, now in hideout, through Panchu Kalu. "Kalu was wanted in a number of criminal cases, including five killing cases," he added.
